Light Art Festival Takes To London´S Streets

LONDON: London´s dark winter nights will shine a bit brighter beginning Thursday, as a nighttime art exhibition proposing a number of publicly displayed works that use light as a medium gets underway.

Lumiere London functions over 50 works via British and overseas artists, placed in public spaces, buildings and on the streets.

The artists who've created works encompass Tracey Emin, Alaa Minawi, Julian Opie and Miguel Chevalier.

“We´ve basically taken the centre of London and grew to become it into a massive, outdoor artwork gallery,” said Helen Marriage, artistic director of Lumiere London.

“There are fifty eight installations all created by way of artists operating with mild in awesome and fantastic approaches and those are unfastened to wander; it´s free to revel in.

“The works themselves include a range of installations, including a large desk lamp in King´s Cross, a triangular tunnel of mild at the South Bank and one in all London´s iconic smartphone boxes turned into an illuminated fish tank in Seven Dials.
